FINANCIAL
The Gold Coast Legal Service provides a financial counsellor who offers information on remedial, preventative and advocacy services for individuals in financial distress with a focus on helping people who are on low incomes.
Financial Counselling is given by a qualified financial counsellor employed by our service. These appointments are for up to an hour's duration. The financial counsellor is not an advisor and does not give financial advice with respect to alternative investment options. The advice given is to assist those persons who are in personal financial distress to explore their options to relieve this distress.
These include information and options on:
- The rights and responsibilites regarding your finances
- Understanding debts and debt recovery processes
- Assisting you to voice your circumstances to creditors and others
- Bankruptcy and othe debt relief options.
